lexus battery lifespan for 430s in northeast?
We just had our first dip into freezing temps and woke up to a dead battery after a few cranks. Checked the service history and lexus replaced battery in 2011. On the lexus oem battery it says 84 month warranty but are people getting that kind of lifespan in states with varying freezing/hot temps like in northeast? I jumped it and no problems since but if I see anymore signs I'll throw a new one in. Just wondering what your experiences are. I know in previous cars I've went through optimas and the like every 2-3 years.

Just replaced my "Advance Auto" battery. It was a 2008 production, so 4yr lifespan. I am in Central PA.
Also I replaced my Pannasonic battery on my 2004 GX last year in 2012 (so 8 yrs lifespan)

Pry open the two cell caps on your battery and make sure it has enough water in each cell. Even no maint batteries need to be checked and refilled every year or so. Refill with distilled water only.

According to my Lexus mechanic, the Lexus batteries used to be made by Panasonic, and therefore were really well made. My original battery lasted 8 years. Now the OEM batteries are not made by Panasonic, and therefore not half as good. I use Interstate now, and they last about 4 years for me. I asked about using a Lexus battery, and he said that Interstate are much better than the current OEM batteries.

I just replaced my 8 year old oem Panasonic battery. I live in New York and it has been good to me all this time. I've put in a Kirkland battery from costco(84.99$) with which I had good experiences with in my other cars. I also read that the same company that makes Kirkland batteries makes interstate, Duralast and optimas as well as some other brands

I have 8 years on my oem battery. My other Lexus did 9 years before I replaced it. I have never achieved this kind of longevity on an aftermarket battery. It seems that Lexus has some great batteries.

Check your voltage after the battery has been resting a few hours with no discharge. You should read a resting voltage of 12.6 to 12.86 volts in which case it is healthy and charged. Unlikely to freeze either if fully charged though it is not capable of putting out the same amperage. If you're trying to buy time in a cold winter (is that smart?) keep it in the garage or get a battery heater.
