purchased window tint ls430 03 Austin texas
Again thanks for everybody's help. Here is what I did:
I purchased PIPL Formula One Pinnacle Ceramic Film. Invoice says:
30%F2 15% Rest
Net net $359.10
I did front two side as dark as is allowed in Texas, I did the back two and rear window a shade darker. Total of five windows.
http://www.formulaone.com/pdf/FormulaOneSpecSheet.pdf
Lifetime warranty nationwide. Local lifetime warranty for any damage or failure even if I shank a three iron into my own car window.
Sunbusters on Hwy 183. Lots of good press. Says he does Lexus dealership windows. Ferrari's BMW's, etc in line. Very busy.

I had my car tinted by Lexus Park Place in Grapevine Texas for approx $280. They did a very nice job and used good quality tint and provide a "lifetime" warranty. Because of the climate here in DFW area, the bigger Lexus dealers do so much tint (basically every car sold) that they tint in house and have their own guy to do it. The upside is that they are very good at doing tint on Lexus cars. The car looks way better with the tint and heat reduction was significant.

My rule of thumb is that if the work is sold as a "pack" from the Finance Department it is probably subbed out. YMMV.

That could be true in Texas which is a bit warmer, but in So Cal all the dealers sub out the work. I have customers whose main line of work is being the tint subcontractor for a dozen dealers. All the 3M films plus the ceramics and exotics make it way too much of a stocking issue. Additionally, if you have a guy working for you doing tints - what happens when you need 3 cars done asap? You have no capacity for work surge.
