I recently just changed my drl/high beams to led bulbs. But i notice I had to also change a t10 bulb to led as well. The t10 is used as daytime running light instead of the 9005 led bulb I purchased.The 9005 bulb only comes on when I turn on the high beams. Is this correct? I read the other thread and people were able to use the actual 9005 led bulb as the DRL. I didnt even notice the t10 bulb until I was changing out the bulbs. Any input?

First of all I recommend not to change the 9005 bulb to LED. I wouldn't want to loose high bean option. I didn't like the DRL color, so the dealer disabled it for me for free as curtesy. I did replace the t10 bulbs with leds. I have bought 5k bulbs from vleds.com. When driving with parking lights or full lights it looks great.

I think there's something else you need in addition to the 9005 bulb to keep it on. I'll update my response later if no one else chimes in with the exact name of it.

I have LED's as my DRL's on my LS430 and I used actual 9005 bulbs. There is a harness you will need to get for the bulbs to work properly.

They also have a 5000k LED setup if you want pure white bulbs.

I went through myjdmtoy for the drls and decoders so they don't flicker. Ran me like 70 bucks I think. Can't remember but they look amazing. I'm not worried about high beams since the ucf31 has amazing light output

The bulbs were ebay ones. 120 smd led 9005 bulbs i got for 24 bucks. and they flicker for drl but highbeam is fine. I will be purchasing decoders for 7 shipped for the pair. it is the 50w 6 ohm resistor so it should fix the flickering and be brighter. I may post pics to compare with resistor and without resistors.

That is super cheap! Even with a coupon code, mine was like $50 shipped from V-Led's. Get some pics if you can.

Old post but I was trying to save space and re-use something older.
Just got 9005 drl's which I have no problem with other than there is a slight flicker, that I can tell, it's very quick and you can't really tell from a distance; but with the high beams on it works fine. I have resistors from a previous install but I don't know quite how to wire it/them on a LS430 9005. It wouldn't be like the 'kit' that people have now. Any input on how to wire the resistor directly to rid me of this problem?

The reason you get flickering from the LED's in the DRL is because of the DRL voltage. Putting a resistor in line with the LED bulb in the DRL socket wont help but make it worse. You need to step up the voltage to keep the LED on which is what the modules do.

I just ordered a resistor kit. So hopefully that will solve the problem. As I stated previously that the high beams work fine, and I know that the drl runs at 30% maybe? So with the resistor kit should solve the problem and will it be as bright as the highs or just get rid of that slight flicker?

If you ordered resistors to put inline it will not work but make it worse. I stated this in my previous post

You need to step up the voltage. A resistor will limit voltage/amperage which is not what you want to do.

Youd need to get the decoders or the relay harness. Take a look at V-LEDs website or ijdmtoys.

Gotcha. Yea I saw that kit when I was looking around, now I see there's relays also. If the one I got doesn't work it was just a waste of 6 bucks. Lol n I'll get the vled kit. Thanks for the clarification! 👍
