Default 2004 vs. 2005 LS430 - Bluetooth & Smart Access

I visited a Lexus showroom today looking at the 2005 with Nav. The salesperson told me that Bluetooth was not available on the 2004 model with Nav. He also told me that Bluetooth and Nav are available on 2005 but it also comes with the smart access feature.

After speaking with my audio installer, he told me that a remote starter cannot be installed on a model with a smart key.

My questions:
1. Does the 2004 or 2005 LS430 have the Nav and Bluetooth without smart access?

2. Can a remote starter (with alarm) be installed with a the smart access option? Is my audio installer wrong?

Thanks!

I have a 2004 with Nav, Bluetooth and Smart Access. You can install a remote starter but you won't be able to use your smart access as you will have to disable it. The way it was explained to me was that, you will need a spare remote key in the car (hidden) so that the engine will start if you are using a remote starter. To twart thieves, most modern day cars require the security chip built into the key. You will need to turn off the smart access then as if your spare key is in the car, well, the door will be unlock to anyone trying to open the door then. My friend who's an alarm installer told me this. He did say there was an alarm out there that can by pass the smart key but it was pricey. Just my $0.02.

Bluetooth certainly was on 2004s - My 2004 LS has ML, Nav, and Bluetooth. I have an early 2004, and so, have no Smart Access.

Don't know anything about installation of remote start, though.

most car salesman always lie... and they dont know crap about what they are selling... 04 has bluetooth and you can get remote start (aftermarket) you just need to speak with the right people, not amatures.

So Smart Access was only available on Late model 04's?? Is there anyway to tell if it has it or not by sight?

The four handles will have small black, square buttons. That's what you press to lock the doors.
