2004 LS430 Custom Luxury
Purchased my black on black 2004 in August with 157,314 miles. Checking this off my bucket list as I have wanted an LS since they were introduced in 1990.

2005 Ls 430 bought used 50000 miles in 07. As of 10/17/14 I
have 248000 miles kept up service checks 3 timing belts , water pump
Don't think I needed it but the last time timing belt was changed had
Them to replace it. Had spark plugs replaced, suspension work done
replaced two batteries and an alternator. Love this car I've own
nice cars but this Lexus has just been amazing.

Transmission
Make sure you just drain and replace the fluid. Don't do the Lexus trans service as I've been told by my Lexus mechanic. He said it forces small metal fragments into the gears and can cause trans failure usually within 5k miles.

Reverse Light
I have the same thing. I think it might be a reverse light causing it. I'll post again Monday when I have replaced it.

2002. Bought the car at 85,000 miles and it now has 130xxx. The BIGGEST Major problem : ELECTRICAL! All my windows alarm mirrors trunk relay gas cap relay basically everything stopped working. Happened to a good amount of LS430s I've read about on the internet.

2004 ls 430
179,000 miles. Just about to change 2nd timing belt and 1st water pump. My maintenance history is posted elsewhere. Love the car, but once a year I have to put 1-3K on some type issue. My goal is 200+ miles. I was encouraged by the chap with 248k miles. Bravo.

about 104K on my 2004 LS430
I don't drive a lot of miles but I have two kids with LOTS of activities after school. Live on a hill in a downtown urban area. My wear and tear is measured with brake jobs, door slams, and stop lights (average about 20 per day). Average speed on computer is 22 mph for a tank of gas. Not a lot of miles but hard on the car. Rear door gaskets are coming apart. Car is garaged 80% of the time. I too spend about $1-3K per year on repairs but my two kids love the comfort, ride, space and great visibility out of the back seats.
