91 LS400 Nakamichi sound system question
My 91 LS400 has a Nakamichi sound system, when I switch on the radio or CD, the volume is very high at 1/6 turn, I can never turn to 1/4 since the volume will be extremely high.
I looked at the amp which locate above the CD changer, it's pioneer, why? I thought nakamichi head unit should come with nakamichi amp. Is there any amp other than the one above the CD changer?
I want to upgrade the amp, but I heard people said the head unit audio output on all 4 channel using common ground, I have to find an amp that support common ground, right? Is there anybody has the color code for the nakamichi amp? Thanks!

The common ground is not the negative ground wire. The common ground I am talking about is the negative wire of front left and right, rear left and right audio channel.
