LS430 front end rattle
Well, after three trips to the dealer with my brand new 2003 LS430 it was determined that I need a new left front strut and strut mount. Problem with 600 miles on the car. Funny thing is I had to have the same thing done with my 2001 LS430 about 2 1/2 years ago. They both made a noticeable percolating or popcorn like sound over bumps and rough roads. To me, very disappointing for this car. I just hope they do a good job replacing it next week. My 2001 also had to have the sunroof replaced, rear wheel housing welds were weak and caused body creaks, serpentine belt was replaced, front seat was replaced due to creaking, but in spite of all that I got another one and right out the gate the problems begin. Next time I will look very hard at the competition. In fact, that could be as soon as next week.

Did you get both of your LS at the same dealership, if you do, you should look hard at the dealership, not the competition.
My Lexus and Toyota cars are as reliable as you can get. I have a 03 LS, too. Does the popping sound happens when you brake, or just going through rough road? Cause my Volvo has the same problem, but only under braking.
Hope they can fix your car and get rid of the problem.

Follow up to LS430 front end rattle
Just a follow up to my earlier post about a suspect strut on a new 2003 LS430. We'll Lexus of Wayzata, Minnesota really has out done themselves on this one. Because of my complaint, they sent their diagnostic specialist to my place of business with another 2003 LS430 for comparison. After several test drives and listening, it was determined that I did indeed have a car with an unusually noisy front strut or strut mount. Needless to say, they ordered a new one, installed it the other day and all is fine. What a fantastic level of service. They are to be commended for going the extra mile to satisfy their customers.

By any chance...
Jarogi,
By any chance did you have the "sport' package in either of those vehicles? I have an '01 that has also had the front seat replaced b/c of creaking and I have complained on SEVERAL occasions that I get a knocing from the left front of the car when pulling out or pulling into driveways, over bumps, etc.

No I didn't on the 2001 or the 2003, but I'll tell you that the LS430 has a definite noise in the left front over bumps etc that is inherent to the vehicle. My rattle was different, but during my problems with the 2001 the tech and I test drove about three or four LS430 and they all exhibited a noise in the left front going over dips and bumps. The 2003 does the same thing and so did the other one the tech and I test drove. Hope this helps.
