Random Wierdness: temporary stalling

One other thing I'd like to point out for those considering cleaning your MAF sensor is that the correct terminology for the 98 is not MAF, it's "intake air flow meter" (part #22204). Unlike earlier models where the MAF was mounted on top - these go into the side of the air delivery system and due to it's "closed" design you cannot get to the contacts to effectively clean them. Best you can do is aim your spray cleaner hose into the hole, (second photo shows the meter turned vertical), spray a few times then turn it over and let the excess run out. Anyone have a different experience with these?

The only other issue I had (besides the potential show-stopper with the wrong parts) was getting the TB off and on. I removed all the engine plastic, throttle cable, air/vac hoses and all the electrical but because I didn't want a coolant spill nightmare I left the coolant lines attached. This proved to be a PITA but I was still able to get in there and clean up most of the 16 years worth of carbon deposits on the port and air path holes.
