great first post and welcome! it's not a huge surprise to hear stories like this as we all here know the reasons why we enjoy these cars. glad we have one more happy new owner!

with the gearing these cars shine on the highway. do a little bit of city driving and the numbers average out lower but not bad considering a heavy car! it all depends on your driving habit and car condition.

do you recall how many miles were you doing on a tank? i've surpassed 400 miles in one tank on roadtrips and i have a 97 with one less gear than 98-00 cars.

Timmy, I never ran the tank until empty, but on several occasions I got more than 500 from it. I couldn't believe my eyes at first, but when it happened the second and third time, I was a believer. Truly a comfortable car for road trips, but as I mentioned earlier, the fuel economy was the biggest shocker for me.

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to your community. Now I too am in on the secret that is the LS400.
