When this is a continuation of the same issue we like to keep it in one thread. This allows future searches to detail each step rather than jumping from thread to thread to find what the results were.

Merging this with the prior thread.

I'd know for sure if it was the ecu, cause I'd put in a known good one, after checking everything else out first.
If they ever find the problem I bet it is something simple and over looked. Or just not tested correctly.

So is it best to get another used ecu? Do you have to get the matching key from same car as ecu??? Does the ecu have to be flashed the it be ready to installed?

Gen 1 is all plug n play. The locks recognize the keys just old normal stuff. The remote is done by the remote ecu in the trunk. Yeah try a KNOWN good ecu. And NO its not best to get another USED ecu, it has to be known to work good, like out of a car that is running good. The only thing important is that the ecu is for a TRAC or NON TRAC what is yours?

OH and did the shop check for the ignition signals from cam and crank sensors? Remember it shut off while driving, the ecu needs that signal to keep fuel pump running.

Seems basic, but did you check the battery cables? A loose cable will give you those problems.

Trac will have a button just above and to the left of the ash / cash tray. ECU is under the glove box.
Anything from trunk is an option, nothing there other than a gas tank that is for engine related stuff.
