HELP-car cutting off while driving

No, no, no....leave the jumper cables in the trunk! You don't need or want them for this test. Just take a small, short piece of wire (16 or 18 gauge, whatever you might have laying around) and connect the two pins in the test port connector together. They are only separated by inches...if that. Radio Shack has some nice small jumper wires with alligator leads on each end that might work nicely.

Yeah, I am glad you asked too. I do not want to see sparks flying any more than you do. Just ask if not sure. So, you found the port connector ok? Its just a few inches beyond where the top radiator hose goes into the engine (thermostat). Gray lid on top.

All you need to stick in those small little holes is a paper clip that you bend with your fingers and make a kind of a U shape out of, and stick it in the correct holes that Yamae showed in his picture.
Any wire with a clip on it will not fit. It has to be something very skinny like the average paper clip size.
And don't jump from the battery to anything UNLESS YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING.
Oh and you get the codes out of that same port using that same paper clip using the CORRECT terminals or holes or what ever you wish to call them.

It's not quite OK to use a very skinny wire between FP and +B. There goes more than 10A when FP relay is off. You need to use a wire which endures against the peak current.
Recently I find some people who often mislead other people here in our forum.

If I'm not being helpful, I'll stop posting then. I'll just ask questions when I need to. Need advice

Ok well i tryed to paper clip and dont hear.anything,i think im connecting them right inside it,so of i dont hear nothing what does that lead to? I dont know if this can tell you something or not, after i turn the car over i will hear a noise from the back seems like the fuel pump noise? I know i supose to hear that noise when the key is in the on position before i crank it

The manual actually says to turn key on before jumping it. Maybe best just to follow the manual.
Did you ever get your spare wrecking yard parts, FP relay etc.? What about the harbor freight DMM? Its either free with a coupon or about $6. You can then check the relay coil for resistance. It will be handy for your electrical gremlins.
The way I understand it is the reason for jumping it is. For the fuel pump to run the ecu needs an RPM signal to know the engine is actually turning.
That is why initially when starting the engine the pump only runs momentarily, doing the jumper will run the pump with the engine off and not turning.
