HUD for 1993 LS400
I'm looking for any info on installing a Heads-Up Display in my '93 LS400. Most of the HUDs I've come across use the OBD2 port which I don't have. I would like to use one of the universal HUDs offered on e-bay, but not sure if/how I can get one to work. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the tip! I looked into that app a little and it seems to use the OBD2 port also. Being a '93 I don't have an OBD2 port to access so I'm wondering if there are other options out there. I found where some have tapped the speed sensor wire to get data to the HUD but that's a little beyond my expertise. I was kinda hoping someone had found an easy solution to getting these HUDs working on non-OBD2 cars. Thanks again for the info
EDIT: Maybe hooking up the 17-pin diagnostic port to an OBD2 adapter, then using a OBD2 Bluetooth adapter from there. I know practically nothing about OBD ports and maybe something like that isn't even possible.

So I ordered a GPS HUD unit from Amazon. It only needs to be connected to the 12V power supply and it's ready to go. I was expecting the GPS to be really slow and inaccurate, but it seems to be pretty spot on. My gauges have been flickering for a while now, have bought 2 spare ECU's but they haven't helped. To replace the dash would be about $600 and to fix my current dash requires soldering skills which I don't possess. Instead of putting the HUD by the windshield, I placed it upside down above the dash so it reflects off the tinted glass in the dash like the other warning lights without blocking any. Easy $100 fix for a non OBD2 car with a bad speedo.

I'm getting certified in soldering next week. I have a good Weller soldering station and will be getting a work bench soon. After I get Certified, you could send me your cluster and I could see if I can fix it. If I cant I would just send it back and let you know I cant fix it.

Thanks guys! There are multiple things wrong with the console electronics and I'm not sure how much I want to invest trying to fix them. The vehicle needs other things too like calipers which are higher on my fix-list than the dash light problem.
After moving the HUD around a little I found a place where I really like it. It does block my check engine light but that's not really a problem for me. Here's a short video to show it off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr1S...ature=youtu.be
