Default Ls400 obd1 adapter, where to find?

Hi!

To keep this short and simple, I have tried to find an obd-1 adapter for my 1993 ls400. I know that it is possible to jump-wire the obd, but I would rather like to have a proper obd-reader at hand at all times, if I run into a problem on the go.
Another reason is that no run-of-the-mill mechanic has an adapter for it, this, i belive, is because the car never was sold in my country. The Lexus dealer might have an adapter for it in their workshop, but with only 3 dealers in the entire country this is not a very viable option.
so, does somebody know where you could find an adapter for the Lexus obd1- port (the round, 14/15 pin port below the steering wheel) to a regular 12pin obd1-port?
Thanks in advance!

no need for an actual reader for OBD-I cars. use the link above and save yourself the extra time and just use the wire method.

Im not so sure an actual scanner would be as of much use as you hope. The error codes in these older cars are not nearly as detailed or useful as they are in newer vehicles.

On that topic, have you found a resource or list of the codes for the early Celsiors? I've heard they're different from the Lexus codes, and I figure Australia having had these for many years now has that figured out.

Have you looked much on eBay? Sometimes it is amazing what they have on there.

I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-TOYOTA-L...-/381965130029
Which seems to be a connector to plug into the rectangular diagnostics port on top of the engine (I believe that is just a different form factor from the round port in the driver's footwell), converting that into an OBD2 port.

and this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/17-Pin-OBD1-...-/232037855202
which seems to go from the footwell OBD port to an OBD2 interface

And maybe once you're at OBD2, you can find an adapter for whatever you need to plug into it. I'll guess that at this very low price point, it is just wires inside the adapter here, no circuits.

Please follow up with whatever you figure out. Until then, we'll continue to use jumpers and count flashes.

Some pics, since I know those eBay listings won't last as long as these cars will:

And all those adapters are for true scan tools not for a code reader. Only high end scan tools will read OBD1. They can be got for the $1000. range used and can go up from there. New they are maybe $3000. up.

Thanks for this advice. I was wondering whether this Mazda adapter
https://www.ebay.com/itm/17Pin-to-16...d/132622564484
had the same connections as the Toyota/Lexus adapter, but it seems that neither one will work with my code reader!
