Just got 93 LS400
Amazing car. 240K miles. Can't believe I got such a high mileage car but couldn't pass it up. All other LS's I've seen were crap mechanically, interior, and exterior. Paid $1600, not exactly a steal but I'm happy. I got burned once buying a wrong LS400 couple of yrs ago with blown head gasket(lot less mileage) so I was very cautious with this one. My brain told me pass but I just couldn't move on. Two owners on this car were family members, and original paint, only couple of dings and not even touch up paint. Bumpers show the age but other than that not bad at all. TB, WP, plugs. major service done at 190K miles.
Now things that need attention:
1. Valve cover gasket need replacement on one side
2. Only driver side window works
3. A/C needs service(High side has some gas) Thank god it's R134a
4. Power steering rack bushing
5. Front shocks are blown
6. climate control LED-on order
7. climate control buttons don't light up
8. Dash board is cracked-will buy cover
9. Repaint bumpers (paint code for bottom goldish color?)
I'm better than avg diy'er as I've done most of the work on my Z. I'm going to attempt to do all of these myself over a few months. Any comments or constructive criticism appreciated.

Some serious sun pouring down on it, overall looks like a pretty solid car for a good price, I bet you'll get a lot of service out of it.
Although between the Z32 an the Prius, when are you going to drive it?

Thanks!
Prius is for wife. Recently I got a job requiring a 20 mile commute in LA area and I do not want to drive manual Z with puck clutch in traffic so I got this cheap LS.
Yes I do. Already fixed the master window switch so windows roll down now and ordered valv cover gaskets. lol

I see signs of abuse... But still a nice car, enjoy it. they are amazing. Keep it maintained and it will live forever. There was a picture posted on the LS400 facebook today of one wth 896k on it.
plus the price you paid wasnt bad. If I was in the market for another and it came up, I cant say I wouldnt have bought it.

Just added tint and polished, Looks very nice except the bumpers. Will post pics on this thread once I take pics as I go.
After fixing all minor things I'm looking to restore' my front seats. Don't like the idea of adding seat covers. What color are my seats? Ivory?
Here's before/after pic of repair on leatherrepairkits.com . Look familiar? I did small hole repair on my Z and it came out nicely.

oops...you're right.. now I see the color of the car and it's not white.
Yes...I'd like to see something work that well... as I've not yet.
Thanks for pointing that out... not so impressed now...

Well replaced valve cover gaskets and looks like it wasn't leaking after all lol.
Looks like cam seals are leaking haha. Just gotta love buying used car like this.
No big deal really because I'll be doing it myself. I've been doing some research on removing crank gear but nothing really comes up. I see there is a screw hole but not sure if there is just one or two. If there are two then i suppose you can use a puller. Is there a how-to on removing cam pulley and crank gear/sprocket? I'll be doing the whole package with wp tb and new seals. Timing belt service was done at 188K but I guess these seals were never replaced.
