pretty much when i cut the springs all i did was cut the dead coil off (the flat top that sits in the seat) and about half of a regular coil. so it wasnt much at all. I had also gotten new lowering KYB Shocks

So I Had Some Time Before Work And Painted My Wheels. AGAIN SOMETHING I HAVE DONE BEFORE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS OR CHIPS!!! I Bought Two Cans Of The Krylon Dual SuperBond Paint+Primer Black Satin and One Can Of Krylon Gloss Clear. I did a total of 5 Coats of the black on all 4 wheels and a total of 4 coats of Clear on all 4 wheels. Spent about 14 bucks in supplies and a little bit of my spare time to do them!! Came out real nice. YES THEY ARE DURABLE! I GO THROUGH HIGH PRESSURE CAR WASH'S AND PAINT HELD ON WITHOUT ANY CHIPS OR PEELING!!!
LIKE STATED BEFORE, THIS IS FOR THOSE WHO ARE ON A BUDGET BUILD!!! KEEP NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!

It seems like some cars react differently to cut springs, I had a Volvo 240 with about 4 coils cut all around and it actually wasn't too bad. Then you see a Honda with cut coils and it is bouncing all over the road. However something just doesn't seem right having cut springs on a Lexus lol

Nothing wrong with paint wheels...
As long as you took them off the car and prep'ed then for good adhesion then they should last a good long while....
Now if you painted them while on the car.... That would be a different story!
Also, welding springs to the spring perch is a really bad idea... You should NEVER heat a spring in anyway"

thanks for all the replies. and i forgot to mention that i just joined this site wednesday morning. i wanna put spacers on it but i have to roll the rear fenders first. i also forgot to mention im running 18x7.5 G35 wheels and the offset is +45 and the tire size is a 235/45. no rubbing issues at all when making full turns or coming off of driveway slopes. i dont have to worry about going over speed bumps sideways either.
In Case youre wondering, my Total Investment into the car out of my pocket is 0!!! why or how? Cause when i had my 20s, i traded them for these g35 wheels and the guy gave me 300 on top. So everything has been coming out of that 300. I paid $65 for 5% limo tint, $15 for paint supplies for wheels, and $12.99 for LED interior lights. I plan to do the exhaust as well, tint tail lights and front corner lights, and HIDs for headlights and fogs. will keep posting pics as it progresses! any questions on how i did anything feel free to ask!!
here is a pic of the car today i took at work! =)

To was just flipping through the build threads section and came across this one. The very first post seemed very relevant to this thread....

Looks really good, not too crazy VIP which I don't like, I drove around with my air suspension in that Gap for years and the ride quality was almost the same as factory ride height. Same is true for my 98.
