Hood struts- Need help
I need to know how to remove the original hood lifts from my 97 Ls400.
I bought new ones that look as if they'll clip right on, but I don't see how to get the OE off.
I did search for info but could find none! Thank you!

as long as you have bought a good major reputable brand (Strong Arm, Sachs, Mighty Lift, etc.), and have the exact ones for your year of LS400, then just install the new studs into the engine bay and hood and then they simply just snap on!
on the originals, don't try to remove just the strut, remove the bolts instead - it helps to have a partner to hold the hood while you are working

Thanks so much LScb! You're my hero!
my ever so dependable auto parts store gave me one (Sachs) strut without the bolts in the package... And that happened to be the one I opened, so I was very confused. So I checked the other and it had it- got one done for now! Lol.
Now i have to wait til TUESDAY for them to get another in... *sigh*
