Newbie with a question!! Steering column noise
I have a 96 Ls400 with 290k miles on the body and 146k on motor and transmission, motor was put in before I got the car, there is a noise in the steering column when I drive sounds like the motor is just whining within the steering column. If anyone has a idea what that is then please let me know. I also have another question, sometimes it wont go into reverse, brake lights don't come on, and I have to take something and push down on the park override button. both of these doesn't bother me but I would like to fix them.

The steering isn't heavy it steers like a dream but just has that noise I'll make a video of what it does later and post it, and I'll check the brake light switch.
Thanks for the fast reply!!

Here is the video, it sounds like a slight ticking noise as the motor revs and only does this when I am driving. The car has a exhaust leak somewhere haven't found it yet, so could the noise be coming from that?
