how did i do? LOVE IT
Just bought a 1995 LS 400. I have followed these cars for a long time. Always been a fan of the ls 430 and this just was the right price. I owned an 01 is 300 (in high school) and an 06 is 350 (at the tail end of undergrad). I am now in grad school and have an 06 built GTO with 500 hp and 19,000 miles. With Michigan winters, I have decided to not drive the GTO and put it up on the lift for the winter.
I just bought a 95 ls 400 with 139k miles and had timing belt done at 110k. Everytihng is good and smooth on it. The radio lights just went out. But that is all I have noticed so far, I am not expecting/ looking for much. Simply an A-B car. The best part is I purchased from the original owner. I always am nervous when I first purchase a car, but would you guys hesitate to drive this places? What do you think I paid???

Sounds like it's clean and will fit the task you've purchased it for.
I'd get it checked over, brakes, fluids, belts and if all look good, then hit the road.
My parents just took their 1993 model on a long trip with no worries.
Your confidence in your ride will increase the more you know about it's condition.
It it was serviced at Lexus then you can look up the records online.
Or maybe the prior owner has a file with the info.
Things will wear out and will need to be replaced, but good maintenance will keep it on the road for years.
Nice thing about these cars... they are built to last and are very reliable.
Congrats and welcome to the club.

Thanks guys, I love the ls platform. I really love 04-06 430's but that doesn't quite fit my needs unless I sell my other car.
I paid 2,700. I realize that the more I drive it the more I will gain confidence in it.
It has always gotten oil change ever 3k with regular oil, planning on switching to mobil 1 synthetic and every 5k anyone see an issue here?

sounds like a good buy, and this car is VERY good for A to B driving. i do 6k intervals with mobil 1 syn with no problems. do you plan the mod the car or just keep it stock? either way i hope you'll grow to love and appreciate all the engineering that went into the car this old like we have.

thanks!
nope no modding at all. I leave that to the GTO. I will reevaluate in the spring since I may sell the GTO. For now, I am just looking for a good cheap reliable car for the winter. But if it is anything like my last two lexus, I will not want to sell. I wouldn't mind leaving it as an extra car if it proves itself like it should.
