I've checked two other places both were more expensive. But the price break down was new shocks front, rear, 4 new mounts, new bump stops and sleeves (boots), 4 wheel alignment, and labor,

I got my coilovers installed for 250 by a vendor when I bought it through them for a total of $1050 bucks. I did buy rims and tires through them but I still would have paid the same for coilovers and installation.

Price coming down found a set of KYB's on Amazon for $305 plus shipping. Had my mechanic take a hard look at the suspension and I won't need the mounting plates either. He doesn't want to shoot from the hip on another estimate until he has the car. He said the first estimate was a worst case senario. Will try to scan the estimate from Pepboys in the morning.

1800 is reasonable for a lexus with genuine lexus parts, labour and alignment. however, for $2000 area you can just buy a QUALITY set of coilovers and install them yourself. coilovers are by far one of my favorite things to install because they are simple.

no. it's not

the "genuine" Lexus shocks, for example, are basically KYB Excel-G/GR2, and from an independent mechanic, that is a ridiculous amount for this job, I could get this done and fly to South America, enjoy a week of fine dining, and fly back for less than $1800!

Alright, so... I just sourced out the mounts and rear struts with no springs via napa pro link so keep in mind that these are aftermarket oem fit parts, ok?

strut
- $316.00 each

mount
- $157.99 each

alignment extra

labour extra.

shop supplies

tax

remember that these are aftermarket KYB oem fitment parts. not genuine lexus parts.

Ummm, yeah.... You're paying WAY TOO MUCH!

Rockauto.com -
KYB Part # 341159 More Info GR-2 / Excel-G
Front; Except Elec. Pneumatic Susp. $76.89

Rear; Except Elec. Pneumatic Susp. $83.79

KYB Part # SM5563 More Info Mount Components
Front; Except Elec. Pneumatic Susp. $30.79

Rear; Except Elec. Pneumatic Susp. $40.79

Total of less than $60 for all four dust boots....

Alignment shouldn't be more than $80-120
Labour shouldn't be more than $300

Or just get a set of BC coil overs for like $950 or a set of Megan EZs for like $750-800 which come with shocks, springs, mounts and boots!

Seriously man, you're being taken if you pay that much for those parts on one of these cars... I don't even think the dealer charges that much!
