Weird setting for Tein Comfort Sports
Hi, had Tein Comfort Sports (used, not brandnew) installed a few months back and when installed they car went really low. Had it adjusted a couple of times higher.
However, I've never actually seen the struts. Decided to have a look into the wheel arch today as I still get the tyre rubbing especially when turning sharply right.
I've previously read that these Teins lack height adjustment separate from spring tension adjustment or sumthing like that (still learning these suspension terms).
Otherwise the car rides okay I guess... I think I realize now why the front sort of drops after going over a bump... probably not a good setting like this. Might go for a new BC racing set.

your definition of really low differs from mine in that tein CSs, at it's lowest, is only about a 2.5" drop from stock height. you are correct, the set of teins you have do NOT have separate height adjustment. it looks like you have set the coil lower perch at the highest setting where the spring is already almost compressed! what tire size are you running?

Hmm, could it be that my Tein's pistons need servicing? It seems they are not taking the weight?
Maybe that's why there's too much drop and the springs are too compressed?
I'm not very educated on suspension stuff.

One thought that crossed my mind was that the springs are not meant for the car. As in they were switched out for a softer/lower spring rate coil. The pics of yours looks to be about 2" of total spring travel. When compressed as they look, they will bind and make noise especially on the top and lower windings which are already compressed together.
Even if the shock has no pressure, the springs should be able to support the car without that level of compression. I'm presuming that you haven't added a significant amount of weight to the car and it is within reasonable factory spec for the rated load capacity.
Snap a pic so we can see just how the current ride height is at this adjustment level. Tein CS that I've seen are not super low.

I think the gas inside has leaked out. I hear that problem time to time.

Hmm it does seem like it because the right side seems to be a lot lower than the right.
See the different heights of the adjustment rings?
Might take these to a machine shop to service the absorbers tomorrow. Will report back.
Thanks all for the help!!

Definitely has had some leakage or some sort of issue with the piston. I'd imagine even after unloading the springs, the spring rates would definitely be shot. You should invest in another set. And be mindful of the the correct preload (if any) once you install your new set so something like this won't happen again.

Had a chat with the mechanic and I think we've figured it out. The cars rides pretty good and doesnt bounce or clunk so the damper itself is probably ok.
The main problem is that the car sags lower on the drivers side, even after adjusting a few times. So it must be the springs that are shot.
I think I'll start with replacing the springs.
