1996 JDM Celsior Climate Control Unit
Looking for a climate control Unit for a 1996 JDM Celsior, I have attached photos of the 2 jacks that is plugged into my climate control unit. I have also attached a photo of my JDM setup.
Please give me a direction where I can source this climate control unit, or if not, the entire JDM setup.

I THOUGHT I read somewhere on here that you could replace the nav system with the standard radio and climate control from a doner car, but that may have been hearsay and i could be totally wrong..
I do have to ask though, what does the "TV" button do?

Thank you.....Since my climate contrrol is embedded in the entire JDM setup...i am wondering whether or not the climate control can be removed and simply be replaced with this one

The stereo connectors are at the bottom, ac in the middle and nav at the top.
Not sure what the orange connector by the grey ones goes to..
The non nav ac unit has only 4 gray connectors..

There are big differences between a 98 and a 96 and I don't know what will happen to you if you try to use the USM ebay climate control unit to a 96 JDM. According to the page of the CelsiorUp, there are photos of a JDM 94-96 at below.

Thanks Yamae. To the picture below, my 1996 JDM setup consists of the climate control and Navigation system in one. However, atm neither are working.
With the white part to the left of the picture, consisting of the 4 grey jacks
I am therefore contemplating purchasing a 1996 USDM climate control unit

What I can say is that the manufacturer of the unit must have made the units at the same manufacturing line using the same manufacturing and test equipments by the same operators. To save the cost and to avoid the confusions of operators, pin assignments must be designed just the same. That's what I always was ordered by my boss when we design new units. He said, "A good designer needs manufacturing knowledges as well as engineering skills." I actually had worked as a line operator for some months and that was a bit tough but a very good experience for my initial engineer life.
Toyota and Toyota related companies always use an expression "Fool Proof". It simply means to avoid the problem caused by unskilled operators. There's also an expression "No loss time at the product change". We were desperate to meet his requirements.

The connectors look just the same. Probably pin assignments are also the same but there is no information and you worry about that point.

Hi MattLS400, I am busy trying the same mod on my 95-97 Celsior. I have the exact same unit with factory nav and climate control.
I recently got my hands on a 98-00 with the separate climate control and tape deck. The climate control plugs directly into those grey plugs. In your photos above the white box seems to be the climate control.
So, I plugged the 98-00 climate control in. I started the car to see if it would work. The clock came on immediately but nothing else. When I switched off the engine the backlight of the main LCD screen for the climate control came on but nothing else. Also, when I started the engine the clock digits were shimmering as if they could not display properly.
This was all yesterday. I will try again over the weekend. I'm just doubtful now whether the 98-00 climate control really works in a 95-97.

The 98 ls400 came with a lot of "news" vs the 95-97 ls 400 and the new ac unit and the new
instrument cluster is just a few of them.
When i compare the wiring diagram you should be happy your 98-00 ac unit did not caught fire.
Here you have an example(from the wiring diagran)
The ac solar sensor has connector 2c and 3c on the 98-00 ac unit..
On the 95-97 the solar sensor has connector 7b and 6b..
They are not even on the same connector.
The air inlet control servo motor has connector 24a and 11a.(95-97)
On the 98-00 the same servo motor has connentor 21a and 8a.
The ac room temp sensor has connector 2b 95-97
On the 98-00 it has connector 5c.
The duct sensor has connector 9b 95-97
On the 98-00 it has connector 11c
And the list goes on...
However,there are a lot of wires that has the same location on the connectors.
You should have rewired all wires before testing.
This is taken from a lhd car diagram.
