Just reminding that only ca 1/4 of the oil can be drained each drain. I Have two LS400. Also think the six times drain and refill feels most safe. I want the oil to have fresh additives and dispersed wear particles in low amount. Nothing else. Trying to flush out deposited stuff feels like a very bad idea. The drain and fill method is a bit wasteful of the oil but it works reasonably well.
It is possible to calculate how much of the old oil is left after 6 times 2 quart changes. The Trans holds ca 9 quarts total.
(7/9)^6 is the old fraction that is left. ca 22% . Hence the new oil share will be ca 78% IF you drive and mix the oil well between the changes. After this I do 2 quart changes every motor oil change. This will mean that over time the average age on the transmission oil additives etc will be approaching around ca 3 years or so in the long run.

I did a pretty deep clean of the car. Vacuumed, cleaned and conditioned the leather, and cleaned the dash. The ES300 I got for my mom yesterday is getting the same treatment tomorrow.

Transmission oil changes...It IS possible to get 3 quarts or even close to 4 out but that only worked for me the times I had the car jacked up in front for a few weeks for suspension work. I was told that some more of the ATF seeps into the pan given time (and the angle with front lifted probably). Normally when I jack up the car straight up on a car lift and drain directly I get less then 2 quarts out. Done that several times on two different LS400 .
