Fair game... Wheel stuff
Okay, so it seems I may be closer to picking up new wheels with out even having to sell my truck. So, here is the thing. I have never had a fender rub issue at my current height (with the exception of the bumper scrub caused by the soft megan spring rates) riding on 215/35/18 up front. I was planning on going lower up front and tucking just as much as the rear - But I had a hard time finding tires and had to settle for 225/40/18 just to stay on the road temporarily. They rub the fender when I turn. My daughter says "Did you hear that bee daddy?" lol -
So question... Should i have the fronts rolled MORE and pulled a little to be able to go lower on current tires and be in preparation for new wheels, which I am hoping to be 18x8.5/9/9.5 front ?
I am still unsure which wheels I will be picking up, I have a few prospects:
AME Shallen 18x8/9 - Probably with a spacer..
RE Amemiya 18x9/10 +21 w/ stretch
SSR Vienna 18x8+37/9+32
Traffic Star 18x8.5+24 18x9.5+25
or Garson (Sizes undetermined)
Also, with some of these wheels, having the lip so close to the fender on the softy spring rates will likely cause wheel and fender damage... Right? - How do I avoid this until I get stiffer coils/springs ? - I am slightly impatient and am about to have close to $2,000 at my disposal for wheels - Which kinda puts my priorities in a dilemma - I SHOULD get the coils FIRST, but I have been wanting new wheels for a LONG TIME. I kinda got tired of these wheels while they were on my infiniti...
A buddy told me to keep my wheels and get the coils, and just pick up 18x9.5 of my current wheels for the front too - but in my mind, one size all around is a no go - I don't know why, but in an RWD vehicle, I just feel like it is general principle to be staggered...
Input?
I seem to have NO -camber up front, and that slightly bothers me, maybe pull a little more camber up front would help?
Sorry for the long postage - Just been thinking about this A LOT
