Default What's your window roll up and down speed?

I noticed that my windows on my 92 go up and down really slow average about 5-6 seconds per window per direction. I compared that to my girlfriends 2010 focus and hers take about 2-3 seconds per window. So I figured my window motors were going bad I replaced one to test the theory but the new one was just as slow. So my question is were they just made to be this slow? Also is there any way I can speed them up? And what's the average length of time your windows take to go up and down

could just be that the guides are dirty/regulator is dirty/switch contacts are corroded...

the motors are prolly the last thing i'd consider.

The windows on my 90 LS seemed relatively slow too. Don't worry about it.

I second that ^. My 92's are not fast at all. Think my passenger one is a bit slower at least when i control it from drivers side. I did replace the switch last year too. That one just stopped working.

the main reason for slow windows are dirty guides. lube them and see if they will improve, but usually it will not knock too many seconds off the up/down time . the windows are slow to begin with true, and if consistent across all windows, i would just be more patient.

just cause hey are slow does not mean they are bad. I'm told the windows are made for torque. So that the window will not die over time.

I'll try cleaning out the guides and see what that does. I kinda figured that it was probably just the typical window speed. If not I guess I'll have to just be patient like said earlier

my passenger switch barely works unless your using the the strength of thor to pull up or down in which it still take about 10 seconds... or it takes 5 seconds using the driver side switch..

Same - the front passenger switch can lower the window but not raise it back up in my '92. Driver works fine because I paid a king's ransom for a new master switch.

our cars are a lot older. i don't have much problems with mine opening and closing. although it's pretty slow. about 6 seconds to close and another 6 to open. front passenger seems to be the slowest also.

I can vouch as posted many times above. The guides get dirty! Undo the door trim and clean them. If not then silicone spray or wd40 and you watch how much better they work.
Been there done that. The motor will also be the last thing I will be considering too.
