99' Lexus LS 400 with 07' GS 350 rims
I bought a set of 2007 GS 350 rims supposedly in near mint condition on Ebay. They were described as only been used less than 6000 miles. Pictures looked good so I hope they look as good when they arrive tomorrow or day after. I read a lot about others who have put GS rims on their LS and have no problem at all with the fitment. But I have 2 questions: can anyone suggest what size tires to go with them? I think I read somewhere that 245-45-18 goes perfectly but why not the 245-40-18s? And I also remember seeing someone post that 235-45-18 might work better, if thats true, could anyone advise why? I am looking of a comfortable low noise type of ride but I also want my car to look sportier than stock without going to the VIP look. Please give me your opinions. Thank you.

the only time 245/40s come into play is when you're lowered. and you arent going to get to that point with stock wheels unless you're both slammed and have some big spacers.
245/45-18 is the correct size for an oem+ setup.

im currently running the '07 gs350 stock rims right now. i have 225/40/18's on them and i think they look perfect. it's barely a slight stretch if any (depends on tire manufacturer). but if anything, 235/40/18 looks nice. 45 series wall is too fat imo but if you want more ride comfort then go with a thicker side wall..

if you're looking for a stock ride, go with the stock recommended tire size for the '07 GS350. it's 245/45/18.
in your situation, i think it's best to stick with 245/40/18. seems like you want a sportier look but you don't want to lose any performance and you care about ride quality. 245/40/18 look like this on a 3GS:
just picture that on an LS. or use my picture for reference cause the only difference is i have less meat than you. car doesn't look sporty with fat 45 series sidewalls, just saying. and i've ridden on 40 series tires for quite awhile now (on my g35 stockies and now the 3gs stockies), they ride perfect for me.

With the 245/40 you'll have more wheel to fender gap showing at stock height. If you plan to lower the ride height, I'd go with the 245/40 ratio tires.
You can use this to play with tire sizes. It isn't dead on, it approximates pretty accurately though.
