Default LS400 climate LCD dead. What temp am I at?

My 1992 climate control LCD is dead. I'm going to get it fixed sometime soon from one of the shops on ebay.

If I push my temp decrease button until it stops beeping, it stops at some low temp setting. And I know I can then push my temp increase button, and raise my setting in 1/2 degree steps.

But where am I starting at? What is my low temp? (I got my LS400 in this condition. I never knew the low set point, and can't find it in my manuals.)

Help - from you who can still read your climate setting!

I just usually start at the hottest and slowly decrease it till its at the temp I like LOL... that normally works for me.

Temps are raised/lowered in full degree increments.

Okay. My mistake. (Maybe mine is in Celcius, as it is a Canadian car? Could that be why my uncle (the previous owner) said it was in half degree steps?)

You're close. Absolute low is "MAX cold" and then one up is 65*. Absolute high is "MAX hot" and then one down is 85*. The fan works different on MAX hot or cold. And it does go in full degree incriments. I'm not sure if it would be in Celcius, but if it is I doubt that it would raise, or lower in half degree incriments.

This is the way to do it b/c the actual temp reading doesn't matter, it's all about how warm, or cool, you feel.

If you disconnect the battery it resets to 75 degrees too!
