1st road trip in my LS!!
I'm takin my first road trip in my baby down to Destin, FL. Trip is 6hrs and a couple of mins from Atlanta, Ga. This should be fun. I should get down there on 1 full tank. 324miles. Wat you guys think??

Sounds about right, could drive a bit faster tho..... Ive driven from Portland Oregon to Boise Idaho and back several times. Just over 6hrs including peeing and drinking and eating and a little stretching of the legs. Every time I take the same exit to get gas, and there is a car wash just up the street. every time 445 ish (give or take 5 miles) and 50 miles left on the dash.

I have lived in Destin for the last 5 years and I just got home from work at the Boathouse oyster bar on the Destin harbor. October is my favorite month here, you should go watch the fishing rodeo weigh ins at AJ's and walk the Harbor! Have a safe trip and enjoy your ride. I had many awesome trips back home to Memphis in my 94 LS.

324 miles shouldn't be a problem. I did 440 miles including mountain passes twice last week with some fuel left over. It actually runs a bit better now after all the driving, I think some of my bad compression may be due to a sticking ring that's starting to come loose. I'm running slightly oversized tires and a recent electric fan conversion (didn't have a shroud for the mechanical fan). The biggest thing I noticed is how comfortable the driver's seat was; I only took a half hour worth of breaks during an 8+ hour drive and was still pretty comfortable at the end of the trip.

I have a 99, and I have done several road trips in it for work. You'll find that you'll start looking at the map to figure out where else you could drive to. It's that nice on the interstate.
324 miles will be no problem for your car.

Man that trip was great....I filled up before I left and only used a lil over a half a tank. I took pics but not of the car....when we left I filled up again but using mid grade only becuz gas down there wasn't cheap. Got home with an half a tank at 28mpg...and still til this morning I still have the same gas in there. I'm at a quarter tank right now. Bout to fill up again....the ride was good no problems and it was a comfortable ride...my girl went to sleep on the way down and on the return trip smh...sucks as a co-pilot!! Lol. Glad we went tho...so lookin Foward to our next road trip. Thanks for the responses.
Oh and too bad it wasn't this upcoming weekend that we went becuz their having an Exotic Car show down there but I plan on goin to the Lexus meet here in Atlanta this weekend. Nexttime ill go down there tho for that.

Nice little trip, glad everything was ok. Too bad on the co-pilot, really sucks when they sleep.
I used to go down to Ft. Myers Beach, Fl. with my kids when they were younger. Wish I had the LS then. 1400 miles with 3 screaming kids under the age of 10. I got pulled over coming back through SC two years in a row same spot, same cop, same time of day. Eh, the good ol' days.
How did the car run on the mid grade with all highway? Any power loss?

My mom has the exact same car as mine(down to the color), but a 91 instead of a 92. We took it on a road trip all the way up through Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana this summer and averaged 28 mpg in it. I couldn't believe it. The best i've seen in mine is 24 on the highway. The only difference I can see between the cars is she has the original 205's on it, my tires are 215's.
EDIT: Also, she runs 87 octane all the time. I run 91, which is the highest available in Utah.

The mid grade did good actually I didn't notice no power loss at all but I still had a quarter tank of premium left in the tank when I filled it up with mid grade. Alot of Lexus owners on here and the dealer said it was ok to go back n forth from the mid to the premium. So that was the first time I did it and I think ima continue doing it.
