98 LS400 steering pump - what is this plastic part?
hello,
I live in Australia with a 1998 Lexus LS400. I ordered a salvage power steering pump which was delivered to an address in the US. The part will then be carried to me here in Oz -- aren't relatives great!
Anyway, the part arrived in the US with a plastic bit broken off. What is it? Is it part of the pump? Should I return it to the wreckers, or should I have it couriered over to Oz as planned?
Thanks in advance!
Ken

That's the Air Control Valve. You can use your ACV from your car.
Or, you also can remove the ACV, and plug the hole with an M15, 1.5 thread bolt.
It is a good idea to replace all of the O rings in the pump before you install it. Do the search on the forum and you will find more information.
