Default A 2000 Steering wheel on a 96 LS ???

Hey all !

Just wondering if this is possable with some type of kit. I have a 96 LS 400 in sweet shape (I love this car) and I picked up a Steering wheel from a 2000 with the wood on it (I paid almost $700 for it). It sat around for about 4 months till I had the time to bring it someplace to have it installed. Come to find out (I am sure other people have seen this) that it fits the car and the harness for the air bag but, the air bag will not mount to it.

So, I sit here with a nice wheel that would look awsome in my car but, I cant use it because of the fact that the airbag will not fit.

Safty is first here but, I would like to know if there is a way to be able to use this wheel on my car, say a work-a-round for it.

If not, Anyone interested in the wheel ? Make me an offer because I can't use it (I really, really would like to though).

Thanks

If you don't mind sharing, how much did you pay for your LS?

I think I got a good deal, I picked it up last November with 75K on it, a one owner trade in at inskip with all service records up to 73k. I found it at a small dealer, who got it at a lexus auction and basicly got it what he paid for it (long story but, I hassle very well)

I paid $16k for it.

Any idea on a way to get this steering wheel to work on my nice car ???

Default 98 wheel on a 95

Same dog bit me! I bought a 98 wood wheel on ebay $250.00 color is a little off, (More orange than the wood in my 95, looks like in the new GX's) Took it to body shop for the switch and the airbag would not nest in correctly.
And "Lev" my 95 with Chrome Faux spokes, in-dash CDx6, Nak, and 38,000 miles last June...$21,800. But it sure is sweet, like new. Just no wood wheel.

Only way to make those steering wheels work is if you go and get an airbag. If you buy the airbag which fits the year of the steering wheel, it will work perfect. The newer airbag also is safer than the old ones that are currently on your car. They are very costly though unless you manage to find one in a car involved in a side impact collision.

Default Which bags fit a 98 type wheel?

That was my question, I can live with a little crack, but not without my horn or airbag.
