Default misc thread + TPS sensor! solved some things!

Ok! I took my car to a shop and the tech told me that toyota released a new throttle position sensor. (P/N 894520 - 22090 )
He originally thought that this was mainly my problem with all that I mentioend in the 'misc' thread. So I went ahead and had them toss the new TPS in there and it made a big difference. My car actually keeps it's RPM after you let off the gas when driving instead of just dropping to like 1000 RPM. Acceleration is a little smoother also.

Still I have the jerky engine feeling / stuttering and no chirping of the tires off the line...

If you have an old or high mileage lexo, change the TPS to the new style one!

How much did that cost you installed?

The guy at the shop wanted $90 for the part plus $30 for install. I think he helped me out tho, as it took about exactly 5 minutes to replace the old one and I kinda helped them out.

So not sure, but I rememember a thread back talking about how the replacement of the TPS helped the rough idle problem alot of people were having.

Check Steve Ganz @ carson toyota for the price.

oops I meant the GS forum (about rough idle)..

I have a 1990 w/ 142K miles.

I swear everytime I post my mileage here, it goes up by a thousand or two..;-)

After another day of testing, car runs alot better on the highway, as it doesn't constantly drop RPMs if I let off the gas. I can just push on the gas and go.

Next thing to test -- MAF...
