"Antilock" ABS Sensor Light Diagnostic Issue
So I'm in a weird situation.
My "Antilock" ABS light sporadically comes on and off. When it comes on, it will stay on for most of the day, and randomly turn off. It's got a mind of its own.
On top of that, my speedometer recently went way off track. At a stop/idle, the needle sits way below the zero, and then makes its way up as I drive.
In wearing out the Search button above, I found everyone mentioned about checking the ABS sensors on the hubs. I took each one out and cleaned them. I then did a resistance test on them (connectors in the front wheel wells and the rear ones located in the trunk) and they each showed perfect readings.
If the sensors are how the speedometer reads the speed, yet they all check out to be working.....what else am I missing? What else would throw the "Antilock" light?
Back track to a few months ago, I took some friends on a mountain trip. On the way down, the ABS system worked flawlessly as to control some very steep downhill roads.
With that being said.....what is causing that light?! It's annoying lol!!!!! I can't find anything faulty in the system yet the light is on.

Also the build up of dirt and metalic particles around the sensor pick up head and damage/dirt/rust to the toothed wheels the pulses are generated by can cause ABS errors.
I even heard that even the incorrect torque on the sensor bolts can cause errors.
If you pull the ABS diagnostic codes it may even indicate which sensor is the problem but not sure which year LS you have.
