Engine Cleaning?

Pole Position
Don't spray any water in the engine bay b/c of ALL the sensors on these engines. They're so sensitive to begin with. In the old days, before everyone was concerned about the enviroment and before all the sensors, we used to steam clean the engines. But that is now illegal in Ct., I think it's still legal in Ma. I don't recommend it but If you decide to go that route, make sure all the electronics are wrapped up nice and tight.

Cleaning stuff
I just use what's around, usually a window/general surface cleaner for everything up top and a strong dish detergent like Dawn for the bottom and any oil/fluid splatters. For scrubbing the bottom of the engine/tranny I use an old toilet brush mounted on a pole, gets most of it without getting on the ground, didn't cost anything and reused something that would have just gone to the landfill. Keep the electrics dry at all costs.
