Trans Pan

I doubt you've read my thread as I clearly did it. I used 12" ramps, and drive it up on there, dropped the 10mm bolts, removed the pan, than the filter, cleaned both, and reassembled. I did it on my back, in my driveway, while it was sprinkling on me. I know it's tight, but it has been done, and can be done with less. Let me know if you'd like me to take some more flicks, but here is my post from like 2 years ago. When I removed the pan, I was off to the side, as opposed to under it which will give you the room you need to remove it. If ramps aren't enough, trying jacking up the rear end, so the entire car is off the ground.

the rubber gasket you get with the advance auto parts kit is reusable too - i've taken my trans pan off about five times with that filter and have reused it every time, and it has always been leak-free

Yeah, that's what it was - it was $15 or $20. I got a junkyard trans that clogged up a lot of filters until it finally got working right, so I used the filter from the kit for a short while until it loaded up, then bought 3 more filters from RockAuto for like $5 each, as well as a Magnefine filter. In subsequent pan drops, I didn't have to fuss with FIPG goop or the murderous agony of scraping it off at all - just wiped the surfaces somewhat clean and reinstalled. Bada-bing!
