LS400 Power steering pump

If you are looking for used, this is where I got mine, and all my parts. http://www.chuckandeddies.com/ As of a few weeks ago, I saw 3 LSs there (Southington) and the PS pumps looked good. I paid $25 for mine a year and a half ago and haven't had a problem with it. When I get back to work I plan on rebuilding my old one. You could do the same, it might be the cheapest way to go. This is the rebuild process. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/steer...mprebuild.html

I'm about to rebuild the PS pump in my '91. Ordered the seal kit (0444630173) and bearing (9036317017) from Pembroke Pines (http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214082 ). Cost ~$47 including shipping and $5 handling. I plan to follow those instructions at Lexls.com

I say props to you people for rebuilding your P/S pumps yourselves. I too am new to this forum and new to the world of Lexus. I just got my car back from the local Lexus guru after having my pump replaced. If it were an old Chevy I might have tried doing the work myself. LOL But it looked too complicated to me after researching it quite a bit online. I probably would have stroked out if I had done it myself and it still leaked. Maybe I should work on my patience level. Anyway I got my car back and it is working great. I paid dearly for the repairs but the work is guaranteed and I have no regrets. 212k miles and the car has no issues other than the Dash light problems and I plan on having Jim walker fix that before... dare I say Winter rolls back around. OEM FTW
