No unfortunately not, since im in Canada it wont make a difference anyways. Think about though, it like us inhaling our own exhaust mixed with our breathing oxygen... if you get my drift. At any rate these are nothing more than galvanized 18 g steel sheet metal, they shouldn't take very long to machine with some air tools or even some tin snips.

not worth it.

EGRs exist to LOWER exhaust gas temperature, and the performance impact is negligible.

search around, you'll find more reasons. only reason to block them off is if you need the room (for a turbo/supercharger/custom manifold) or are too cheap/lazy to replace all the EGR equipment.

Well i was just thinking that it would lengethen the engine life but i could be wrong.

Thank you! Someone who actually UNDERSTANDS what the EGR is for! Also the EGR also helps control spark knock as well. It is a BIG myth that the EGR will cause premature engine damage. You will not gain ANY performance by removing the EGR if the EGR was working correctly in the first place. I cannot believe people waste their money on this stuff. The three pieces of steel costs around $10 if not less to make the EGR delete. Maybe I should make the pieces and sell them here for $50! LOL!

I agree that there is no damage to the engine by the EGR however, I did the mod last year when my EGR pipe cracked and sprung a leak. I was able to do the mod myself compared to about $900 to have the EGR tube replaced. My state has no emission regulations so it wasn't a problem. The kit worked fine and the whole process was uneventful.

don't EGRs cause excessive carbon buildup in the intake tract? in the honda tuning world they were removed for that.

they have positive aspects too, and do NOT kill your performance at all, given that the EGR is closed most of the time. You may notice a slightly fuel economy drop, and you will notice higher EGT and Cylinder head temperatures.

Many think that the reason EGRs arent used in JDM cars is because they arent needed to pass emissions there, it's actually because they arent REQUIRED for japanese emissions, and it's cheaper to not sell them.

The purpose of EGR is to reduce NOx emissions by diluting the intake charge with exhaust gases. This dilution reduces the peak combustion temperature and pressure. EGR does affect part throttle mid-range performance, where exhaust gas mixing is at the maximum. At WOT, there is zero exhaust gas mixing, so ultimate performance is not affected by EGR. I concur with the other posts - It is best to leave a properly functioning EGR system alone. It was carefully considered in ECU programming, and removing it may have unpredictable effects.

Actually it's well known that soot from the exhaust fouls sensitive components. Where do you think all that "carbon buildup" comes from? Certainly NOT the fresh air!
