Default What a good/cheap exhaust set up?

I just bought a 2001 Ls430 and i want to be able to hear that v8 rumble while idling but not be obnoxious while doing 60mph.

If you want a little rumble just do a muffler delete and you should be very happy. There really is no aftermarket exhausts for our cars that are cheap. Most member have good results with muffler delete and if they want a littl e more sound they have the 3rd cat replaced with regular tubing.

There are lots of YT videos with guys showing what they've done. Including a simple resonator delete. That'll add a little rumbly to the tumbly..

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...GN-wTYNFkG-BR3 here's a playlist of the 3 stages my exhaust has been in. All in cost me less than $800 to do the cutout install and the resonator and 3rd cat delete. I'd say that's cheaper than most cat-back exhaust systems

I think I'm going to do a muffler delete with 2.5 or 3" pipe and some nice shiny new tips. Just out of curiosity, what did you pay for just the muffler delete and tips?

I'll being posting some pictures of her soon. Just have to wait for this random Louisiana snow to stop so i can clean it up!

tips costs me about $50 on amazon and the resonator delete was I think $60 for both sides. Should be the same price for mufflers
