Noob with an audio question
I just (today) bought a one-family '95 LS400 with 88k on it. The only problem with the car is the stereo system. The whole audio system is dead on the right side of the car. PO had someone diagnose a right side amplifier needing replaced. Where would I find this amp in the car?
The head unit is also acting up. Preset buttons don't seem to work- it gets set on one station and basically will only turn on and off (and volume up/down). I hate the thought of replacing it with a reman or aftermarket deck, because it looks LITERALLY like brand-spankin' new!
Any suggestions??
Thanks!

Welcome and congrats on your purchase.
Is it a Pioneer or Nakamichi?
The amp is under the passenger seat. Info HERE
If Pioneer, I have a second deck that I bought because my backlighting is out. This other deck was supposed to have bad backlighting too so I've got it apart right now. Maybe we can work something out once I get it sorted out.

Phooey- mine's a Nakamichi.
Thanks for the info on the amp setup though! One prob at a time, I guess. I'd like to hear the WHOLE system working before I decide what to do with the head unit anyway. I'm no audiophile, but even half of it sounds decent...
