My driver side seatbelt was going out, so i purchased one off of ebay. It came, and it is all locked up. I was just wondering if there is anyway to unlock it? I cant get it to uncoil at all. Thanks for the help.

I see from your profile you have a 95 but it would help to put it in the post so we don't have to go looking.

Is it installed? What position is the yellow lever in? See the first picture in my post #4 here:

Mine is a 95 too so the pics should match yours.

I forget if that lever locks the belt or not, but I'd be very wary of that belt. I'd contact the seller and let them know you're having problems. You may need to return it if it's defective.

IIRC, from my autobody days, you have to bolt either the top or bottom in first and it should release it.

AzHotLS, thanks for the reply. I tried viewing the image and it told me i didn't have permission. I'm sorry i forgot the year But we did contact the seller and he gave a full refund. My father was helping me and he was getting so mad that i think he blew past an obvious switch or something. And it is not attached it is out of the car and the yellow lever is turned down so the spring that it under it is compressed.

Sorry on the pics, you have to register with that site to view pics.

The decal says, "Before Removing - Push the button to return the lever" [to vertical]. "After Installation - Turn and push the lever" [to horizontal]

I don't recall trying to pull the belt out before installation so I can't say if it should or not. I wonder if connecting the electric cable makes a difference.

, ALL CAPS WOULD HAVE BEEN USED if that was the case!!
