Alright so I slammed my coilovers, looks good but I found out the clicking noise I noticed were my ball joints. I had the car on the lift today and removed my front left wheel. My whole disc brake/control arm assembly moves up and down. There's a castle-nut and a cotterpin on the bottom of the lower control arm where it ties in, which is where it's clicking up and down. No play in and out but up and down.

Any one done ball joints on these? Wanna know what I've gotten myself into. Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys

Very easy job... Using a pittman arm puller, disconnect the tie rod end from the lower ball joint arm, loosen the two 17mm bolts that secure the LBJ to the lower arm, then use the pittman puller to separate the LBJ from the knuckle.

First side may take you a half hour, the second side about 15 minutes...

Oh okay so I don't have to go about pulling off the brakes?

it SHOULD be easy but it's not automatic. my upper/lowers were so froze up i took out my entire suspension to replace them... 2 days later.

you don't need to remove the brakes under normal circumstances.

since you are slammed i would recommend gettting the 2ls lbjs. they drop the tie rod end lower which will help with geometry. it also leaves you open for a brake upgrade in the future.

Oh okay. And the newer ball joints just fit right in? I've never done ball joints on any car so I don't exactly know what's going on here. I know you have to pull the tie rod end off, the two bolts, the castle nut and cotterpin and it should just come right out?
