Rattling from sunroof
I am having this strange rattling sound from the headliner/moonroof shade then I have the shade open (sun coming in). Has anyone else had this problem? Closing it can get rid of the rattle, but it is a pretty loud one.

Yea my 95 is doing it I can't find where it's coming from b.c I'm always driving. I tried to shake some stuff up there while parked and can't figure it out. It's amazing how one tiny rattle in such a quite car can drive us OCD kind nuts.

Mine has a rattle from the sunroof as well, i was hitting around my headliner and i noticed that it is coming from the passenger side rear, I guess from around the track area. It seems to go away when i open the sunroof, and returns when it is closed

I have rattling from the moonroof as well. I think mine is different though. It sounds like two sticky pieces of plastic rubbing together. It sounds like it is coming from the track and not the shade. Or possibly from the mechanism itself.

mine also did that... i did the ghetto fix..i made a little rubber wedge from a pieces of rubber i had.. and slide it in there until it stopped. before i opened the sunroof i would casually remove it and replace it without anyone know what i was doing. my little wedge is about the size of aaa battery

I fixed my rattle. Most are probably a broken rivet on the part that holds the track down to the plastic tub. There isn't that much metal back there to rattle so the possible sources are few... here is a thread I made, see pic #2:

It's not the best pic but that is where the track is attached to the pass rear side of the drain pan. They used rivets which apparently have a limited life span. I tried riveting it again but got fed up and bolted it down... this fixed the rattle 100% and took about 4 hours but that included breaking the sunroof glass... Be careful, there are ALOT of clips to break and at the back the hold downs are glued to the headliner which after all these years makes them weak. You can easily separate the mounts from the headliner and end up with a sag. A good epoxy can fix that problem.
