Smoke from vents
Every once and a while when I start the car and the A/C is left on smoke will blow out the vents, just the two center vents on dash. There is absolutally no smell to it. If I turn the A/C on after I start the car there is no smoke. I do have a bad headgasket, would that be this culprit? It takes a while for the air to cool off and it doesn't get ice cold. Plus there's no heat, probably b/c there's oil in the water. Could it just be condensation, it's pretty hot today?
TIA
I have a tranny question but I'll post it in another thread.

Same thing happens to my 91 on occasion. It was close to 90 here yesterday and I had the auto temp on 68. Driving along and frosty air came out of the center vents. My A/C is very cold. If I turn the A/C off for a minute or two, it goes away.. If I keeping the temp above 70, I don't think it happens. I converted to R134 a couple of years ago.

Thanks. Mine only lasts a couple seconds but it really scared me at first b/c I have the bad headgasket and just didn't know what was going on. To convert it over to R134 is it just drain it and recharge it or is it more complicated?
