What to look for when checking out 2000 LS400
Checking out a 2000 LS400 (96K miles) on local Craigslist. It's a salvaged car that was repaired and being resold by an auto shop (general repairs). Since the car was bought at a salvage auction, there isn't much detail about the collision, and Carfax was no help either. Seller told me the damage was on the roof and door, but I will have a friend (dealer) go through with a paint meter to see how much bondo was used for body repairs, and where the new paint/repairs are.
The car's interior condition is pretty good, except radio LCD is missing segments, driver door speaker grill is missing, and the assist grip by front passenger door is missing. Drives around pretty good though, definitely more pep than my 95 and 96.
Now my question is, what are some of the common problems on 2000 (or 98-00)? Leaky power steering? Bad radio LCD? Lurchy ECU? etc??
Would love to upgrade my 95 to a 00 if possible. Thanks for any suggestions.
