Default 95 LS4 wiper motor not working

Hi guys (and Gals),

My 95 LS400 Project is coming along quite nicely. I got the engine wiring harness and the wiring harness from the engine bay fuse panel fixed. I got the AC to work I have my replacement struts coming in the mail...Now the wipers are next on my agenda. The wiper motor is not working. I hear a relay working somewhere in the dash, but the motor isn't. I can only assume that the motor is under the plastic grate below the windshield. Where is the relay located? The fuse appears to be good as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
First make sure you've checked the correct fuse. It's number 12 (out of the 24) under the instrument panel. It should be a 20A fuse. Check if the washer works, as it's on the same fuse.
Second, there is no mention of a relay according to my PDF repair manual. But the wiper switch (stick) is probably taking on that job. I.e. check the wiper switch.
Then you can check the motor, which is located almost behind the brake vacuum clock. Ground - is at 1 (top right) on the motor connector, fast + is at 2 (middle top) and slow at 3 (left top). To check the return to stop position, connect 3 and 5 (middle bottom) then ground - at terminal 1 and positive + at term. 5. Hopefully everything works, else you have to source a new motor or maybe have the motor fixed. (A new one is probably very expensive.)

Ok, So I checked the voltage at the motor connector and have no voltage. Does anyone know where the wiring harness goes? I followed it from the motor connection down to the wheel well. Does this harness go into the wheel well and tie into the main harness to the fuse block under the hood or does it end up going to the passenger compartment?

I traced the harness back into the driver front wheel well. I found my rat buddy had decided to chew through the harness right where it merges with the main harness. I also found that Toyota puts a nice white rtv/grease substance in the harness where harnesses meet (to keep out moisture?). Apparently the rat likes that stuff!

Thanks Bjorn for the help.
