Default How to loosen A-pillar trim?

Because the 1st gen LS's did not have outside temperature or compass available, and I have an incurable need to know such things, I purchased a Donnelly auto-dimming comp-temp aftermarket mirror. Does anyone know how to loosen the interior header and A-pillar trim enough to insert a couple of wires behind them? Thanks for any help. Gene

You need to unscrew the handle on back seat, remove the panel at the very back, slide the whole thing down.

Check out "Part 4" here:

Thanks, Retrodrive. All I want to do is be able to get about a quarter inch of clearance behind the trim above the windshield and the driver's side A-pillar to tuck a couple of wires behind. Then button it back up. Sure don't want to remove the headliner for that!! I was hoping the trim would just 'snap off' like most cars. I didn't want to start prying on things.

Be happy to, once I get gutsy enough to start pryin' trim off my car! I already installed one of these mirrors in my F250; that was a piece of cake. But then, the trucks aren't put together near as tight as the Lexus. Last night I tried to find a way to run a wire thru the firewall for the outside temperature probe, there is another challenge.

I seem to recall seeing in another thread that there are some spare grommets in the firewall, not sure if that was for a 400 or a 430 though.

I have a 430 and am trying to pull the radio and don't know where to start......
