Slight Braking Vibration (Bobby K you may be on to my problem)
Hello ~
I have a 1994 LS and I have had the Power Steering pump (At Lexus) and the Rack and Pinion replaced (At Firestone) never have felt good about having it done at Firestone and not at Lexus. I mention this becasue my car has a slight to moderate vibration when braking from good speeds, I have had my brakes checked tires rotated etc.. at Lexus no brake problems and Bobby K mentioned in another post that this could be from a part in the Rack and Pinion that connects to the wheels. (I dunno why, but I just did not have 100% trust in the man at Firstone replacing my Rack, I mean he was smoking and acting non-professional the entire time) If this was the issue (the Rack) is it easily detectable ??? or not ? ohh an the vibration is Much Worse when coming down quickly from high speeds ( noticed this when coming down quite fast from 80 mph) anyway ANY advice would be great !
** Oh and when in park I hear/feel this slight humming/vibration right under my feet on the drivers side floorboard , right around where the Rack is, it is not 100% constant but noticable when the air is off !
Ok Once again thanks !!
Happy LS400 Owner,

Hi Paul, I also have had the power steering pump replaced in my 91 LS400. Haven't had my rack and pinion replaced yet, but I'm getting the same vibrations, especially coming down from high speeds. Let me know if you find the problem. Your car already has a better braking system than mine, so maybe it isn't the brakes?!

OK, when you feel vibrations while you step on the brakes, it is 99% of the rotors (warped). I strongly believe this is the case, cause when you coming down on your speed faster. This is because the pad squeezes the rotor even harder and the vibrations are felt all over the place. If you feel it on you feet, it most likely because of the rear ones. But if you do something to it, do it to all four so they will work the same. If your rotors are old, replace them with something better (the guys in here I'm sure they have good suggections to make), if they are fairly new, just take them to a place to put them on the machine and level them.
