New Owner: 99 LS400
I know its not new news to you guys but I am super excited about our new 1999 LS400 I got for my wife (especially after wrestling a worn out 99 RX300).
This one was fully loaded (no air susp.) with HID lights that I love to watch self level at night. I know, the exterior color is a bit goddy (and not my first pick) but man this car looks brand spanking new inside n' out and its got 60k to boot.
The original owner was a grandma that pretty much drove it down the street for dinner every night but now has decided to hang it up. All service records are accounted for and man did they pay out the tail from the Lexus dealer. That's ok though, Im just happy that it was well cared for.
After having the car for the last week I gotta say this thing rides like a dream (goofy but true). It has great power delivery as well for passing. One note, we took a 100 mile trip this last weekend and the computer showed an average mpg of 30 for flat land driving with cruz set at 73mph. I haven't had a chance to verify the computer's metering but that seems a bit on the high side. Anyone else test their computer's % error? Sure would be nice if that's what it is!!
Trunk space was limited for a 5 person family and all our junk but that was to be expected. Still we were able to play tetris with the trunk and make it work. The Nukamichi (or whatever its called) sound system was par for an OEM system but Im an audiophile and I plan to upgrade this with a nav equipped deck.
Now, the tires are still at 75% so it's gonna be a while before I can justify new tires but when the time comes I would like to swap out the rims as well while going with a lower profile tire. Maybe a set of OEM LS430 18" rims with matching tires. I'll cross that bridge when its time.
Anyway, just wanted to share.

Nice ride. If you're still in the sharing mood, what does a 60K mile '99 go for these days?
I just bought a 101K mile '97 LS4 Coach Ed. (my second one) and am pretty happy with the car.
I agree with you about the color, wouldn't be my first choice either, but it's a very popular color and of course the car's condition far outweighs the color.
Congrats!
