Cold start-Rattling noise in bottom left of engine
hello
1. I have a 99 LS400 with 95K miles. Recently, especially when its very cold, I hear a rattling noise, sounds like a loose screw, from the bottom left of the engine. It usually stays for a while, gets a little louder when I accelerate, and vanishes. I can also hear it when I am in the drivers seat, and of course its louder with the hood open.
The noise is infrequent, but there. I have taken it to my mechanic once, but the noise dissapeared. He mentioned it may be the steering pump.
2. Also, I need the hydraulic mounts to hold my hood up (not sure what they are called). My hood does not stay up. Any ideas where to get them cheap.
Any ideas?
