Car is running really BAD...need help (first gen)
My car is still running BAD(now that im in FL).. before i got here, i changed the spark plugs,Spark plug wire, Caps, rotors, Brand-new MAF sensor, Cleaned the throttle, and changed the fluids. My Car misfires(lags) when i floor it, i step on te gas and it takes a bit to go, starts hard, idle bounces up and down when its in drive..I cant figure it out..thought it was the MAF..bought a brand new one..but no difference..its to the point where i might need a new car...cAN IT BE THE FUEL FILTER OR INJECTORS? Maybe ECU??WHAT CAN THE PROBLEM BE

Any check engine lights? does it feel like its running on 4cyl?
Did you try resetting the battery? Bad ECU usually gives similar symptoms, but lets not jump there yet. Thers is another peice that can cause a simliar situation, i have no idea how i forgot its name, but it plugs into the peice that feeds the ignition wires.
i've replaced it on the SC, i just cant remember the name for some reason.... its a common issue. It causes the car to hesitate, and dumps a lot of unburned fuel into the cats, causing them to glow if you drive for too long.

check to see if your cats are glowing or unburnt fuel is coming out the exhaust.
When you rev the engine rpm's does it go up in rpm's normally or slowly both by slowly and pressing the gas fast.
When you first start the car is is better or worse when it heats up and how is it different.
Have you had to buy gas since it happened incase you got some bad fuel ?

Check for loose wires first, sounds like something isn't plugged in properly. If you don't have much acceleration and you're going through a LOT of gas you may have a dead ignition coil (different from the igniter GrandLS was talking about). Either way I would test both of those parts.
