True that. You can smell, feel, and taste (if you want to ) -- The difference in ATF and Coolant.
Trans fluid would be more likely, as your PS and Tranny use it.
The PS could be spitting it out of any hose, the pump, the ACV, etc..
Lexus often uses red coolant and obviously ATF is red.
Yes, there is a difference in the red vs the green. However I do not know the specifics =)
I do know you can get a different color that isn't red, and it be the same chemical makeup as the red.
Find the leak, get some of the fluid on your two fingers.. rub it together -- Whats it feel like? Smell it.. what does it smell like? Only taste it if you know the difference.
Tasting coolant obviously is bad for you, but I'm talking a little dab on your tongue then spit.. Not chugging it down =)
If you really don't know, you can stick your finger in your reservoir tank, shake it, and feel of it, smell it.. (taste it) -- Then compare to what is on the ground. If its a match, yes the water pump could be going bad.. Or it could be a hose. Just have to trace down the leak.
Not sure which scenario I'd want more a bad WP or a PS pump leaking. I guess the PS , if its only the pump -- But a WP replacement isn't too terrible of a job, if you do it yourself.

Take the deal -- Waterpump is always done with timing belt,.. Drivebelt is 20$ fix takes 5 minutes. The seals are part of the timing belt mostly. Thermostat is just a cheap 'why not' ,.. spark plugs are good while your in there with things apart.
That price isn't bad for the work .. if it includes parts I would let em have it. Car might run a little better with the plugs, otherwise it will just be 'reliable/healthy'
