Windshield wipers swipe water very poorly.
Ok, ive put Rain-X on my windshield, ive waxed it with cleaner wax, and ive cleaned it with Windex, (Not in that order). Still everytime i go to use the wipers when it is raining or sleeting they work horribly . There is literally no contact in my line of vision, so im constantly moving my head up and down, left and right to be able to see the road . I checked the leading edges of the blades and they seem to be fine. Is there some sort of adjustment to make them any better?

I know they look fine...but so did mine and they weren't really doing a good job either, actually when i changed them it was the difference between night and day...plus it's recomended that you change them every 6 months, so if you haven't changed them in a while then yeah...lol (i think.that how long it is)..i know you prolly dont wanna buy new ones but it sounds like that's the case, i can't imagine that the windshield arms are the problem.

If it is making contact then your motors or arm alignment should be fine as nawls mentions.
If you doubt your blades are the problem, buy some dirt cheap brand and 'test them' -- I bet you will be pleasantly surprised.
Personally I keep Rain-X applied to every glass/mirror surface in the car.. So wipers are rarely ever needed,. but they do work, and it is aggrivating if they aren't working.
I guess a pertinent question would be , when was the last time you replaced them?

Well I mean it's prolly best you replace them anyways, I didn't spend more than $20 for both wipers so it's not expensive even if you go down to like NAPA as compared to WalMart or somewhere else (which might even be cheaper...just make sure you know what ones you need, cuz they are two different sized wipers), but yeah I'm sure it's time to change them especially if you have no clue how long it's been since they've been changed.

Does anyone ever have an issue where the passenger side wiper sticks out so far that it doesn't completely wipe the glass at the bottom right corner? Im running the stock wiper size of the Rain X, but the Toyota wipers the car came with def wiped the windshield better when new.
